Sorry for the long absence. All kinds of things going on in my life and some things get neglected. Sorry.
Anyway... I thought I would break my blogfast with a story about... WILD, MAN EATING CHICKENS! Well, maybe not man eating. Is this really a menace? Sounds more like a free dinner for some folks.

Is this really worthy of the national news? It's not really that bizarre considering what the Gulf coast has been through over the past few years? Maybe if one of the chickens actually attacked someone or ate the tires off of a subcompact. "The Birds" was menacing and had a certain tension to it. This just reeks of a Roger Corman film waiting to be made.
I'll try to actually have some art posted soon.

New Concept Art - Elymas
A new character concept I just completed for the Shattered Soul game project being developed by Team Kaizen Games. I'm exceptionally pleased with the way it turned out and can't wait to see it in game. I'm very excited and honored to be a part of Team Kaizen and the Shattered Soul project.

Sardaukar
My rendition of the Imperial Sardaukar from Dune.
I saw the 1984 version of the film when I was a kid and read the book much later. Despite the movie's obvious problems, I still think that it contains some amazing design work... except for the Sardaukar. Neither the film from 1984 nor the minseries from 2000 did an adequate job of portraying these guys as the elite super soldiers decribed in the book. In the movie version they looked almost comical, running around in black vinyl hazmat suits. The miniseries had them looking foppish, dressed up in something I would describe as a cross between the Swiss Guard uniforms and purple clown suits.
You may or may not agree with me but the above illustration portrays more closely what I imagined when I was reading the book.

Don't know where this one came from...
This image just came to mind a couple of days ago. It just flashed in my mind and I wanted to bring it out into the open. Now I'm using it in the header art for my blog and web site.
It's sort of Tron meets Metropolis.

Another car concept...
For some reason I'm obsessing on cars lately. Anyway here's another one.
A bit more flashy than the last but still not too out there.

Sports Car Concept
Sorry for the long delay. The holidays always mess up my routine and it takes awhile for me to get back into my zone.
Work has been slow so I'm taking some of the extra time to brush up on my 3D modeling and conceptual illustration skill. Just finished this concept of a sports car.
I just pulled the design out of my head. I wasn't concerned about references or trying to style it after any particular make or model so any resemblance to any sports car designs out there is purely coincidental. I didn't want to go too crazy with it either. I just wanted to focus on good, clean lines and proportions. Hope you like it. The next one I do will be a bit more outlandish.
